While at Leroy & Clarkson, I was asked to create packaging for Graceland, a new show from USA that pivoted away from the “blue-skies” programming they were known for.
Taking cues from Tony Scott's visually dynamic editing and layering style in films like Man on Fire, I developed a series of character vignettes that hinted at the double lives led by the show's undercover agents. We spent a week on location filming the cast and b-roll using a variety of techniques such as optical diopters, double exposures, and even a hand-cranked 35mm camera. I then put everything together to create a highly stylized package that resulted in the grittiest look USA had ever produced at that time.
